Spring is Sprung

Martha McCormick - Sunday, March 06, 2016

The grass is ris. I wonder where the flowers is. Believe it or not, my high school freshman English teacher recited that poem. Seriously, the flowers are already blooming in MY garden.

So, it's time to get outdoors. Sara Lockie visited Mrs. Rowe's kindergarten class at Shuler Elementary in Clive last week to teach the lesson called, “Wind, Investigating an Invisible Force”. The kids observed the wind, predicted what would happen to their leaves, conducted the investigation, and then came back inside to analyze the results. You can find the lesson here.

This and many of the other lessons on Teachers Going Green are designed to help teachers address the Next Generation Science Standards. Where better to teach inquiry based education than OUTDOORS???
